Background

The purpose of this notification is to set out some information regarding the collection and processing of your information by Monaghan Peace Campus. During the course of our activities, we will collect, store and process personal data about our visitors and room hire customers. Monaghan County Council is the data controller in respect of this data.

Monaghan County Council creates, collects and processes a significant amount of ‘personal data’ and ‘sensitive personal data’ in various multiple formats daily. Our commitment is to ensure that the personal data supplied is:

  • Obtained lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner
  • Collected for only specified, explicit and legitimate purposes,
  • Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for the purpose for which it was obtained,
  • Recorded, stored accurately and where necessary kept up to date,
  • Kept for no longer that is necessary, and, in a form, which permits identification of the data subject,
  • Processed in a manner that ensures the appropriate security of the personal data including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing of the data.

What data we collect and process

The types of personal data that we will collect, and process includes your name, address, Eircode, Zip code, Postcode, contact numbers, email addresses, bank details; public liability and insurance details, VAT information, CCTV and webcam footage; photographic images taken at events (where you have been notified of this)

Special Category Personal Data collected may also include health-related information pertaining to disabilities of any kind in order to ensure access, health and safety regulations are in align with visitor, organiser and/or hirer of room(s) requirements; ethnicity, religious background, age.

Why do we collect this personal data?

We collect and process this information in order to manage and administer the relationship between you and us for the purpose of:

  • We collect and process this information in order to evaluate Peace Programmes, Partnerships, Workshops, Initiatives and interfaith activities specifically designed to facilitate, promote, research and evaluate Peacebuilding Engagement strategies with diverse communities and societies.
  • Contractual Agreements
  • Issuing Invoices for processing and payment for room hire and commercial partnerships
  • Receiving invoices for processing and payment 
  • Hire room and spaces bookings and management systems planning
  • Managing Feedback & Complaints Form in order to provide responses to these
  • Providing you with Visitor and Hirer Enquiries and Information 
  • Distribution of e-Newsletters with news and information about the Peace Campus
  • We may share your personal data with selected third parties including suppliers and contractors in order to provide you with our services. For example, these suppliers may include our web hosting provider and our IT service providers.
  • In addition, we may disclose your personal information to third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share your information in order to comply with any legal obligation (including an obligation to share information with other state bodies), or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect our rights, property or safety of our service users or others. This includes exchanging information with other organisations for the purpose of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

We process this personal data

  • with your consent
  • to comply with our legal obligations
  • to perform our contract with you
  • in order to protect the vital interests of you or of another person

Special Category Personal Data

We process this data for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest and in exercise of official authority vested in us as the controller under the Local Government Act 2001, and Article 6(1)(a) and (e) GDPR. For special category the lawfulness for processing is under Article 9 (2) of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Equality Acts 2004 (as amended).

Sharing of Personal Data

We may share your Personal Data with selected third parties, including for example, Local Government and other government agencies, where required to do so by law. We may also share your data with other Local Authorities, suppliers and other third parties who assist us in fulfilling our funding and operational functions.

How long do we hold your personal data
