Peace funding has been vital, not only towards the construction of the building but to the delivery of services, facilities and cross-community activities for the lifetime of Monaghan Peace Campus.
The €21.7 million Peace Campus was supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) , one of six cross-border bodies set up under the Good Friday Agreement.
Funding was provided under the European Union’s PEACE IV Shared Spaces Programme with match funding provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland.
Investment of more than €14.4m was secured under the European Union’s PEACE IV Shared Spaces Programme with the remainder of funding provided by Monaghan County Council, the Department of Rural and Community Development in Ireland, and the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland.
